As a nuclear-weapon State Party to the Treaty on the Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), the United States is committed to providing the fullest possible exchange of peaceful nuclear technology to NPT non-nuclear-weapon States.

Japan organizes a side event on the "International Group of Eminent Persons for a World without Nuclear Weapons (IGEP)" to present its recommendations for the 2026 NPT Review Conference. On April 28, 2025, from 13:15 to 14:30 at Conference Room 11, Japan hosts a side event on the " International Group of Eminent Persons for a World without Nuclear Weapons (IGEP) ".
